PC Gamer

There’s no doubt that 2019 was one amazing year for gaming enthusiasts so far, as some of the most anticipated titles were released and didn’t disappoint. Still, there are a few months left, which means that there’s enough time for developers. And what better time to discuss them than in the middle of the summer, when a hardcore gamer seem to find more time than usual to enjoy some of their favorites?

After 2018, which was arguably one of the best years for the PC gaming industry, we’re obviously looking forward to a year that’s at least as good and it appears that 2019 won’t disappoint.

Therefore, without much further ado, these are some of the titles we’re itching to play.

Doom Eternal

We’ve been waiting for this one for a few years now and it seems that the good folks over at Id Software and Bethesda are finally making our wishes come true!

That’s right, ladies and gents, a new Doom game is coming this year – November 22, to be more specific – bringing hell to Earth and it will be your job to stop it.

As far as we know, Doom Eternal will introduce a change of setting from the 2016 reboot. And by ‘change of setting’ we mean twice as many demons and an updated armoury. Hint: a new Super Shotgun, with a meat hook on the end. Hopefully, this will be just one tiny surprise id Software has for us.

The game will be available on all major platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One, as well as the new Google Stadia, so even if you don’t own a proper battlestation of a PC, you might be able to play it in 4K. Just be careful with that latency, ok?

Borderlands 3

Another one of the titles we’ve been patiently waiting for is Borderlands and the third iteration of the series is ready to make its debut later this year.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, Borderlands 3, just like the previous games, is going to rely on a procedurally-generated loot system, so new weapons, with different stats and features are spawned randomly. And how should we put this…it’s freakin’ awesome? Yes, this is the right expression.

Among the new features it will bring is a new “Radiation” elemental type of damage, supposedly replacing “Slag”, present in previous titles, while adding a new DoT effect. Of course, we’re very curious to try this on our own!
And last but not least, Borderlands 3 will introduce four new classes of characters: Amara, Moze, Zane, as well as FL4K. All of them have special features which they can use in battle, but we won’t spoil them, as you surely want to discover them on your own.

Cyberpunk 2077

The amount of hype created around this game has already reached some unimaginable levels so its presence on our list is a must.

Long story short, Cyberpunk 2077, a CD Projekt Red creation, is a first-person, sci-fi open-world RPG, taking place in, you guessed, 2077. Players start by creating their very own character, using an insane number of customization options, then start exploring the city of the future. If you want, consider it Blade Runner, but with a twist.

However, the main attraction is that as you progress, you can upgrade your character with special pieces of Cyberware, which grant you special powers, like running on walls, double jumping and many more.

Oh, and we almost forgot: you can also drive cars and motorcycles, which give the game a very GTA feeling! As a matter of fact, GTA series fans will totally love this one…

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Followers of the Force, rejoice, as a new title will be coming on your PCs this fall! The Jedi masters from EA are bringing a new single-player Star Wars game, focused on what happens after the events of Revenge of the Sith.

In a nutshell, we’re going to be looking at an action-adventure title, following Cal Kestis, the last surviving member of the Jedi Order, after the infamous “purge of Order 66.” And he has one difficult mission, escaping the Empire and its Inquisitors while trying to rebuild the order.

After E3 2019, where we were able to take a quick glimpse at the game, we are really excited to try the new combat system, among other new additions, but man, the wait is killing us.

World of Warcraft Classic

Yes, we saved the very best for the end of our list. But does this game need any introduction? Yeah, thought so…

World of Warcraft, the game of a generation, returns with some proper vanilla flavor. And even though it has evolved a lot over the last 15 years, there’s still a big part of the fan base requesting a revamped OG version. So Blizzard delivered.

According to production director Patrick Dawson, the Classic WoW doesn’t recreate the game that we remember but reminds us about some of the stuff we’ve forgotten.

“People are going to come for the nostalgia, but they’re going to stay for the rediscovery,” he says. “That’s what’s going to hook them.”

Well, he does have a good point.

And this is pretty much it. Five of the games expected to be released through the coming months which we’re eagerly waiting to try. Especially that Wow Classic, yes sir!

Sure, there are tons of great titles that will also be announced, but we like to believe that we managed to select the very best of them.

Which of these are you looking forward to trying? Let us know, by dropping a few lines in the comments section below!
