The Best Gaming Mice Under $100 Reviewed

Logitech G502 Proteus

No matter what type of gaming equipment we’re talking about, there has to be a Logitech product somewhere. The brand needs no presentation, as it’s backed up by years of being present on the market and delivering only high-quality products.

The G502 Proteus features an adjustable DPI, up to 12,000, provided by an advanced optical gaming sensor. Actually, it’s the manufacturer’s most accurate and responsive optical sensor to date, being able to precisely track your hand movements onscreen.

The mouse also gives users the possibility to adjust its weight to fit their needs, using 3.6 grams weights, for an improved fit and feel Like every gaming peripheral, it comes with a special software, so you can finely tune it, not to mention the sleek look, provided by the customizable RGB lights.

Finally, let’s not forget about the 11 programmable buttons, which, using the Logitech Gaming Software, can be turned into some very useful macros.

Razer DeathAdder Elite

Next in our top comes a mouse made by a reputable brand in the gaming industry. Razer’s DeathAdder Elite is currently one of the best selling models on the market and it claims to have – get ready for this – the world’s most precise sensor. To be more specific, we’re talking about a DPI adjustable to 16,000, which is more than just impressive.

The advanced sensor the DeathAdder Elite is equipped with is capable of mouse movement speed of up to 450 inches per second while the resolution accuracy is close to perfection: 99.4%.

Since we’re talking about a Razer device, you should know that it also has gaming-optimized mechanical switches, able to go through 50 million clicks. However, one of the main attraction points is the Chroma customizable lighting, illuminating the scroll wheel and the Razer logo.

This technology provides 16.8 million colors to choose from, so if you combine the DeathAdder Elite with a Razer keyboard with the same technology, you can create a really nice lighting effect, adding a plus of style to your battlestation.

Corsair Gaming M65

These guys aren’t good just at making RAM modules – don’t blame me, it’s just that I’m a big fan of those products – as they also have some really cool gaming peripherals in their portfolio.

For example, let’s take the Corsair Gaming M65 model, a real looker, at least for us. Sure, one can say that it has a bit too many colors on it, but this is a gaming mouse we’re talking about, so it has to stand out! Not to mention that it can easily match any gaming setup…

The M65 has a whopping 12000 DPI high-accuracy sensor, for pixel-precise tracking during intense gaming sessions. As for the build quality, it’s top-notch aircraft-grade aluminum structure, lightweight, durable and, last but not least, an optimal mass distribution. It’s also guaranteed to last over 20 million clicks, meaning that it can last for years, depending on how often you game.

Oh, and one more thing… Thanks to the advanced weight tuning system, the mouse allows you to set the center of gravity to match your play style, so you can rely on the Corsair Gaming M65 even in gaming competitions and you won’t be disappointed.

SteelSeries Rival 700

We simply had to add a model from the folks over at SteelSeries on this list. After all, they’re one of the biggest names in the…well, game when it comes to gaming peripherals. Specifically, we’re talking about the SteelSeries Rival 700, part of the company’s top line, preferred by pretty much every single professional e-sports gamer. And we also know a few amateurs delighted with the quality of these products.

What makes the Rival 700 really unique is the OLED display it features (yes, a display on a mouse) showing various information, like settings or even a few GIFs especially made for this display. Why GIFs? Because of reasons, most likely.

Specs-wise, we’re looking at a modular mouse, with RGB lighting, adjustable DPI settings and a maximum of 16,000 on the optical sensor. If you don’t fancy the fact that it’s optical, you can always change it with an 8,000 DPI laser one, by the way.

The biggest downside of this model is the fact that it’s just for right-handed users. Due to a lack of an ambidextrous design, lefties should reconsider their options. But generally speaking, it’s an excellent gaming mouse, fitting gamers of all sorts, and it’s suitable for pretty much any type of game. And come on, it’s made by SteelSeries. These guys made a name for themselves by making some amazing gaming-focused products!

Logitech G900 Chaos Spectrum

Are you surprised that another Logitech gaming mouse made it to this list? Well, you shouldn’t as these guys make some of the best peripherals on the market. And what if we told you that they manage to nail a wireless gaming mouse as well?

Most gamers prefer wired gaming mice, claiming that a wireless model is not as fast and accurate, but we strongly believe that the G900 Chaos Spectrum is an exception, thanks to the ultra-fast lag-free wireless connection. Even more, it’s considered the best wireless gaming mouse money can buy right now!

But what makes it so good? Well, first thing first, there’s the amount of DPI this baby packs: from 200 to 12,000 in an instant, with zero smoothing or filtering, for both consistent responsiveness and control, no matter the speed.

As for the battery life, it can last up to 30 hours in a single charge (yes, it’s a rechargeable power pack), while the battery-saving Clock Tuning Technology can improve this seriously. For us, this is somehow better than having to replace batteries each time. Seems like a great deal, isn’t it?

Corsair Gaming Scimitar

Mostly focused on FPS gamers, the Scimitar is Corsair’s attempt at designing a gaming mouse for the MMO community. I mean, we can all notice the 17 programmable buttons on this little beast, right? It may look a bit difficult to hold it with 12 of them placed on the left side, but there’s actually a special support for your thumb, so their placement shouldn’t bother you at all. And by the way, they’re all mechanical!

The mouse comes with a hex screwdriver, so you can adjust this special support – called slider – so it fits perfectly in your hand. However, one of the main attractions is also the sensor, which supports a max DPI of 12,000, adjustable as per your need.

Like any respectable gaming mouse, Corsair’s Scimitar features 4-zone RGB lighting, controllable using the Corsair Utility Engine, which can also be used to program the buttons and assign the macros.

The manufacturer has a full range of Scimitar gaming peripherals, so this mouse works great alongside the Corsair RGB keyboard and the headset. But hey, it’s not mandatory, but we really like matching gaming gear.

If you’re after a highly customizable gaming mouse and happen to be a big fan of first-person shooters or MMOs, there’s no doubt that the Corsair Gaming Scimitar is one serious option to consider. That is if you can get used to the programmable buttons on it and adjust the slider so it can fit your hand perfectly.

Razer DeathAdder Chroma

The last entry on our list with the best gaming mice under $100 is another Razer model, but one that will not break the bank at all, considering that it has a price tag just a bit above $50. But don’t let yourself fooled by the price, because this is one top quality peripheral you’re looking add!

The DeathAdder was one of the manufacturer’s first gaming mice and it really managed to seduce a lot of gamers, being a combination of quality materials, great handling, and a friendly price. Basically, everything a gamer on a budget wanted.

Ever since them, Razer improved the DeathAdder and came up with the Chroma version, it’s proprietary RGB lighting system, controllable through the Razer Synapse 2.0 tool. And man, this thing is awesome!

The mouse is equipped with a 10,000 DPI optical sensor, capable of movement speeds of up to 200 inches per second, as well as a 50g acceleration. Thus, no matter the speeds at which you’re playing, it can precisely respond, with the organic fluidity only an optical sensor can provide. And we’re not done yet…

The DeathAdder Chroma has a sensor so advanced that is capable of tracking Z-axis to as low as 1mm, no matter the surface. And let’s not forget about the amazing Chroma lighting system, featuring 16.8 million customizable colors, to match your mood or the color palette of your entire gaming setup.

Considering the price and everything this mouse can do, it’s by far one of the best deals you can make in terms of gaming mice right now.

Bonus: Asus ROG Spatha

Yes, we know, it costs more than $100, but this Republic of Gamers mouse is absolutely impressive, in terms of both looks and performance, so we simply had to take a few moments and talk about it as well.

Now, these guys don’t make just gaming setups, but also have some amazing gaming peripherals in their portfolio, like the Asus ROG Spatha, a mouse that took everybody by surprise when it was initially announced.

Being a part of the manufacturer’s Republic of Gamers line-up, we’re expecting a lot from this…accessory. In a nutshell, it’s a big mouse, loaded with additional buttons, RGB effects, and even the ability to sync with other ROG-branded products.

One of the first things you’ll notice about the Spatha is that it’s relatively heavy, compared to other similar models, mostly due to the fact that it features some magnesium alloy bottom places, enabling users to glide over various surfaces. Also, it’s covered with a lot (12, actually) of programmable buttons, which can be used to create some cool macros, through the Asus Armoury software. As for the DPI, it reaches a maximum of 8,200, which should be more than enough.

So, who’s giving the Spatha a try? It’s somehow expensive, considering that it’s just a mouse, but if budget is not a problem, it’s worth giving it a shot. At least for the sake of that ridiculously good-looking design…
