As the video game industry began booming during the early 1990’s, all of us gamers have wondered and obviously have seen the pattern, will next gen video games cost more than the already expensive price of $60?

As years have past by, we have seen the pattern of video games costing more as technology advances and consoles moving forward. Back in the day, games were worth $40, and later $50 when the PS2 and original Xbox were released. Because of the graphics and how smoothly graphical games will run with the new consoles, the market plans to raise the prices of video games.

Not only are they raising because of console advancements, major developers and publishers have stated that their earnings from selling their brand new games were lower than expected. As because of this, I believe that publishers do plan on selling games at a more expensive price.

The only thing to worry about is if you, as a consumer, will risk buying a next-gen game. Certainly, because game prices will go up, a lot of people won’t even bother paying extra money on these games and the only people who would be buying these games are the ones that can afford it. I am not sure if this plan is going to succeed concerning the fact that a lot costumers won’t buy the expensive games and the market/publishers won’t benefit from it. Will you be willing to pay a bit more for newer videogames? Write your opinions on potential game price increases from the market in this up and coming era!
