From the cartoony life-sim of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, tearing through demons in hell in Doom: Eternal, to surviving the zombie apocalyptic streets of Raccoon City. Join us as we provide you with weekly updates on some of the must play games while practicing social distancing! 

Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Nintendo Switch)

The latest installment in the Animal Crossing series couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. If you’re looking to pass the time at a leisurely pace then you should definitely pick up Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Tom Nook and Co. are back in the latest installment of Nintendo’s life-sim series and it’s just as adorable as ever. Embark on a journey with the Deserted Island Getaway Package and grow a flourishing community for you and your villagers to call home. Go fishing, dig up dinosaur fossils to donate to the local museum, plant and tend to your garden and fruit empire, all while inviting other villagers to relocate to your island. You can even invite online and local friends to come by for a visit!  

Doom: Eternal (PC, Xbox, PS4)

Coming off the stellar installment that was Doom (2016), Doom Eternal takes the dials and turns them up to 11. Taking what made Doom (2016) an instant classic and improving on it in almost every way. Rip and tear through hordes of hellspawn, collect dozens of secret unlockables, enhance weapons, upgrade the Slayer to God-like proportions, all while rocking out to an amazing soundtrack. You can also jump into BattleMode. In BattleMode, one Slayer takes on two Player Demons who are working together to take you down.

Half-Life: Alyx (PC: VR)

Half-Life fans should probably concede the fact that we’ll probably never see a third installment to the beloved series. Instead, however, Valve has released Half-Life: Alyx, a side story that takes place between the events of Half-Life 1 and 2. Take on the role of Alyx Vance as you help start a revolution against the Combine and are tasked in securing the contents of a superweapon held in a location known as the “Vault.” Half-Life: Alyx is a full-fledged VR game that has been built from the ground up. That being said Half-Life: Alyx is a VR installment that is arguably the best, most immersive VR game currently on the market. 

Resident Evil 3 (PC, Xbox, PS4)

Last years’ remake of 1998’s classic, Resident Evil 2 was easily one of, if not the best, survival horror game of the year. It was only a matter of time before we would make our way back to Raccoon City. This time as the now-iconic protagonist, Jill Valentine who teams up with Carlos Oliviera to save a few remaining inhabitants of Raccoon City, all while running from the relentless and ruthless tyrant, Nemesis. 

Resident Evil: Resistance (PC, Xbox,  PS4)

Packed in with Resident Evil 3 is Resident Evil Resistance. A standalone asymmetrical third-person multiplayer game that is a blast to play. In Resident Evil Resistance you play as one of four survivors as you take on a player-controlled Mastermind. As a survivor you will need to work together as a team to solve a series of puzzles in order to progress to the next area, all while escaping a Mastermind who watches your every step, setting up traps, spawning zombies, or hunting you down as Mr. X.
